A “DNA Space Crystal” is a process by which we use a proprietary scientific process to extract your DNA from hair samples and infuse your DNA into two crystalline solutions. We launch these solutions to space and while on orbit (traveling over 19,000 mph) in a weightless environment, we grow two totally unique synthetic crystals infused with your DNA. The current formula results in a crystal similar to an Amethyst (color, size, shape, and density can vary depending upon your unique characteristics). 

Synthetic crystals grown here on earth can look exactly alike, i.e. same size, shape, and colors and are essentially indistinguishable from each other. Space crystals, on the other hand, aren’t hindered by gravity and can grow into totally unique formations. Scientists have documented that there are no two snowflakes alike and the same is true for crystals grown in space. Not only that but once you add your DNA into the mix, the crystals are totally unique to you and you alone.

• Crystals have never been grown to this size before in space. We have flown over 30 demonstration crystal solutions to prove we can actually do this, but we won’t know the size, shape, clarity, or density of your specific crystals until we actually fly them.

Similarly to Ancestry.com and 23andme.com, we send out a DNA collection kit to you. The kit has everything you need to collect your DNA and return it safely to us. Where we differ from other programs is we collect your DNA through hair samples rather than saliva.

We take your DNA and infuse it into two crystalline solutions and grow two crystals in space infused with your DNA. Upon returning to earth, the crystals will be processed and scientifically analyzed (as part of the research aspect of the program) and then one of  the crystals will be sent to you and the “Sister” crystal will be loaded into the Lunar Time Capsule and mounted to the lunar lander for its flight to the moon. 

Customer flights to space and the return flights are currently scheduled for the end of 2022 or beginning of 2023, so it is anticipated that you will receive your crystal by early to mid-next year based on current flight schedules (spaceflight schedules are subject to change based on launch provider). Members will receive consistent updates on launch and return dates as part of the program. This entire process will be documented and customers will receive photos and updates throughout. 

 We are growing synthetic Amethyst crystals about the size of a small marble. However, what makes this program totally unique and exciting is that we are using your specific DNA as part of the process so your crystals will be totally unique to you. No one else on the planet will have a crystal like yours because your DNA will help dictate the size, shape, color, and density based on your unique characteristics. 

Since we are partnering with the organization that is launching to the moon we cannot control when the launch will happen or when it will actually arrive, but we have space allotted on the flight, which is currently scheduled for mid to late 2023. 

While not required, we invite you to send data that will tell future space explorers that come across this time capsule who you were. You can send personal videos, papers/articles you have written, scans of awards, Facebook posts, Tweets, etc. No copyrighted materials will be accepted. 

No. There are a few companies out there offering to send your DNA into space and even to the moon, but they either combine you with thousands of other customers or turn your DNA into powder and put it in a very small disk. In addition, you don’t receive anything as part of those programs other than documentation, patches, or other paraphernalia. We have a proprietary process to infuse your DNA into the crystal and house it in a Lunar Time Capsule designed by Texas A&M University which cannot be duplicated. This process gives your DNA the best chance to be preserved indefinitely in space.

In regards to cost, it is VERY expensive to send things into space and ultimately to the moon, which makes this an extremely expensive process to execute. Additionally, the number of people that we can fly on this first flight is severely limited as each flight is strictly regulated by total weight, so this is a first come first serve opportunity. With that said, the price to be a part of this one-of-a-kind program is $150,000 (USD) per customer.
